Eleuthera, a slender 110-mile island, offers the Bahamas' most laid-back atmosphere and its most famous beach-the pink sands of Harbour Island.

The island's name comes from the Greek word for "freedom," and that spirit pervades everything here. With just 11,000 residents spread across its length, Eleuthera feels wonderfully uncrowded. Pineapple farms, hidden coves, and empty beaches await those who explore.

Most yacht charters focus on Harbour Island, a short tender ride from the main island. "Briland," as locals call it, packs enormous charm into its tiny footprint-pastel cottages, excellent restaurants, and that unforgettable pink sand beach.
